Employment and Training provides participants with a wide range of skills useful in attaining financial independence:

WoRC
WoRC provides intensive case management focused on financial freedom and eventual independence from Public Assistance programs. Each enrolled participant develops an Employability Plan with their WoRC Case Manager. This plan may include job search; job readiness activities such as preparing a resume, developing interviewing skills, basic literacy, etc.; unpaid work experience/training at a variety of host sites; attending GED preparation that may be transferable to employment; attendance with a vocational or post secondary education or training program beyond high school including a bachelors or advanced degree; customized training to meet the needs of a specific employer; general training that prepares an individual for employment; training or classes needed for a specific occupation or job. Employment barriers are addressed immediately and goals set in place to overcome any existing obstacles that stand in the way of gaining full time employment. Support for overcoming these barriers may come in the form of: referrals to outside agencies, financial education, childcare assistance, supportive services, etc. The supportive services are approved on an as needed basis for participation and employment related needs including, but not limited to: fees, clothing, basic personal grooming and hygiene, telephone expenses, transportation related expenses and tools needed for training and employment. Only individuals referred by the local Office of Public Assistance are eligible to participate in this program.
